September 2019 Meeting
Our first meeting of the 2019/20 membership year is Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Blackfin Pub. We will welcome Certified Funeral Celebrant, Carol Elliot of SAYING GOODBYE End of Life Tributes of one of our Spotlight Speakers.
Here’s some information about Carol and her fascinating journey as an entrepreneur: Carol and her husband moved to Vancouver Island 17 years ago when they both got tired of shoveling snow in Calgary. Carol was teaching folk art painting at that time, and the Comox Valley was a perfect relocation.
Along with her paintbrushes, she also brought her entrepreneurial spirit and knowledge of niche marketing.
It wasn’t long before she was totally absorbed in a home-based business making the best dog treats on Vancouver Island. When it became too big to keep as a home-based business, they sold. Soon, there was another venture, and then another.
Carol loves being an entrepreneur and working for herself from home: She gets to have lunch with my husband on the deck every day, she walks the dogs in the middle of the afternoon.
Over the years she has done everything from working in high-risk insurance to playing at white water rafting with family, hiking in dinosaur country, snorkeling in the Turks and Caicos, and participating in an underwater archeology expedition in Israel.
Carol is going to give a few tips about creating perfect endings.
Registration for the September meeting is coming soon!
