Since starting her career more than 20 years ago, Karen McKinnon has received numerous accolades for photography and entrepreneurship. While clients are drawn to her powerful portraits and storytelling ability, it is her wrap-around care and ability to connect with people that have also set her apart.

Through her volunteer work, Karen was inspired to go back to school and in 2017achieved her Master's in Communication. She has built a second career which includes being the Managing Director of the Community Justice Centre and providing facilitation and communication services to other non-profits and businesses. Karen is also on the Board of Comox Valley Hospice Association and a Community Health Network Coordinating Circle member. 

While life can get a bit wild at times, her two careers work well together, thanks to her passion for her professions, being surrounded by a supportive community and her ability to have fun and never take herself too seriously.
