I moved with my family to the Comox Valley from Ottawa in 2018 to work as a forensic clinical social worker. As a divorced mother of 5, I've worked for many years with children and families, within the court system and in the community.
In the last year, I've increased my scope of practice to include the preparation of assessments for families involved in BC's family court system, and in March 2024 launched Anchor Family Assessment Services. Specifically, I prepare Family Law Act s.211 reports, which provide counsel and judges with clinical impressions about the best interests of children involved in family disputes. In this role, I work very closely with family law counsel, parenting coordinators, family therapists, justice centre representatives and judges.
In addition to my work with Anchor Family Assessment Services, I manage the work of Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services for the upper Vancouver Island region. Here I contributes to court-ordered psychological/psychiatric assessments and deliver specialized forensic treatment services to youth and families involved in the criminal justice system.
I hold a Masters of Social Work from Carleton University and am a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) with the BC College of Social Workers. I am a member of the Canadian and BC Associations of Social Workers and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
