Studio IPF: Inner Pursuit Fitness is a multi-modality wellness studio. Our mission is to offer classes and programs that enhance women's lives and help them feel strong and supported. We provide a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere through classes that are effective, safe and adaptable to women's specific needs. We welcome all body types and all levels of fitness, from beginner to high-level athlete.
We have options for all, in fitness, yoga, mat Pilates, barre, TRX Suspension Training, pelvic floor health, dance-inspired classes and more. We also have monthly Sound Healings for the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation.
Located conveniently in Courtenay, our goal is to help women get moving by providing the most safe, cutting-edge, and enjoyable classes with our personable, highly trained and certified instructors.
Leanne got her first fitness certification in Victoria in 1996 and started her fitness career as an aerobics instructor. After her daughter was born in 2001, she and her husband moved back to the Comox Valley where she grew up. In 2003, Leanne opened Island Pilates in Comox. After outgrowing that space, she moved the business to its current location in 2007 and changed the name.
Though once solely devoted to the practice of Pilates, Studio IPF transformed into a multifaceted health & fitness studio, winning the title of Best Yoga/Pilates Studio in Western Canada, by Get Out There Magazine in 2011. In 2015, Leanne was voted the “Person Most Likely to Whip You Into Shape,” by the Comox Valley Record’s Best Of contest. Leanne is a certified STOTT Pilates Matwork Instructor, a BCRPA Advanced Group Fitness Leader, a certified Yin Yoga Teacher, a certified BOSU Integrated Balance Trainer Instructor, a TRX Suspension Trainer, a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher & Core Confidence Specialist through Bellies Inc.
Leanne strives to make the studio a positive, healthy, fun, community experience.
Her favourite thing in life is her family. She loves dancing, our incredible outdoor playground and cooking (and eating) delicious, healthy food. You'll often find her out on the local trails walking her Mexican rescue dog, LarryBird.
